SuperNecessary is a Brooklyn-based architecture and design office with a name that simultaneously suggests the essential and beyond. The mark we developed together was a series of edits that revealed the essentials needed to communicate the name while keeping the typeface's affective qualities. Take away too much and you have a meaningless signature, not enough and the reading is too easy. We also developed a "shorthand" mark for the office that references hazardous material signage, one of our favorite graphic sources.
